Notes : The Rèmes tribe was one of the most powerful in Gaul and had been a strong ally of the Romans before and during the Gallic Wars. Could the three busts be that of the allied Roman triumvirate? Some believe the three busts to be those of the two Celtic leaders Iccius and Andecombogius, along with Julius Caesar. Would this make the coin type one of the first portrait coins of the Romans???
