Albrecht of Austria and his wife Isabella of Spain ruled over the Spanish Netherlands from 1598 until the death of Albrecht on 13th june 1621. They got it is a kind of present from Philipp II, after their marriage. All their children died young and after the death of Albrecht the king over Spain, Philipp IV, took over the goverment over the Spanish Netherlands. Isabella was given the task of regent over the Spanish Netherlands until her death in 1633.

A GOOD VERY FINE Double Albertin of the Governors General of Spain to the Lower
Countries, Isabella and Albert. Isabella was the younger sister of King Phillip II of
Spain and was appointed by her brother to rule the Lower Countries, or Spanish Netherlands
(Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg). This coin is out of the "Hoard of
Serooskerke" and was auctioned by Jacques Schulman in 1966. Coin comes with original
