A very rare Gold Ducat of the Spanish Netherlands. Portrait of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, but struck under the rule of Albert and Isabella of the Spanish Netherlands. Coin was minted between 1590-1600. Isabella was the daughter of Philip II of Spain, and Philip gave as her dowery present, the territory of the Spanish Netherlands, when she married Albert of Austria.
A choice example with extremely sharp details, including some evidence of overstrike on an earlier coin.
