Being virtually "as struck" this is an astonishingly scarce
and good looking coin with 100% originality and a pin sharp strike. Only very small
numbers of this early type were struck (just 12,000 in 1618) and even fewer survive in any
condition , with most having been melted long ago.
This is the direct "Dutch" equivalent of the slightly earlier English Elizabeth
I Fine Pound or the contemporary James I Rose Ryal and as such holds a very important
position in the numismatic history of Holland and the Netherlands.
