Zilveren denar Bohemond III (1098-1268)

Antioch "Founded in 1098 during the first crusade, the Principality of Antioch was a small state neighbouring Armenia and the Byzantine Empire, situated around the border between modern-day Turkey and Syria. Few of its 20,000 inhabitants were actually catholics, most of them being Armenian of Greek ortodox christians. It was conquered by the Mamluks in 1268. Antioch issued its first copper coins with Greek legends in Byzantine style during the turbulent rule of Bohemond I (1099-1104). The coinage continued until the 13th century, but only copper and billon coins were issued."
