The Lost Treasure of Akerendam 12 Coin Collection of Authentic Gold & Silver Coins from the sunken Dutch Trading Vessel, Akerendam, which went down off the coast of Runde, Norway in 1724. After over 200 years on the ocean floor, the coins were discovered & brought to the surface in 1972-73. Comes in a blue attache case with a Certificate of Origin & Authenticity which guarantees that each coin is dated 1724 or earlier and, through examination of the Akerendam's records, is certified to have been aboard the ship when it made its first and final voyage.

The coins include a 1724 Gold Ducat of Utrecht, weighing approx. 3.5 grams of 98% pure gold. This coin alone sells for between $900-$1600. Also included is a 1618-1684 Silver Ducatoon of the United Dutch Province, which is approx. 32.8 grams of 94% pure silver and was used for monetary exchange in the Orient. The set also includes 1700-1724 Silver Spanish Pieces of Eight, which were also called a "Real."
